This little guy beat out Suicide Kings by a nose to be my first finished custom for 2012! Not a bad way to start the year off, even if I’m running a little behind schedule… (doh!) (more…)

Bringing a new high to truth in advertising, this little guy is just what he says on the tin. Based on the Coccinella septempunctata seven-spot pattern, Ladybug is leaning more towards ‘artistic license’ rather than ‘realistic’… but you have to admit he’s cute! (more…)

Thingamapony

Thingamapony

Once upon a time there was a Doodle Pony so purple that not even the most stubborn of Marthas could figure out a way to make her appear correctly in photographs… (goldarnit!)

Thingamapony might be wearing her Dioxazine Purple points with a rather malevolent glee, but she’s got enough spark to spice up any bookshelf herd. Heck, she’ll even come make your office look that much more awesome if you let her!

This little gal is a shaded metallic purple (amethyst) with slightly darker points (evil dioxazine purple) that mimic a bay horse. As you can see from the ‘with flash’ photos, this little gal has a lavender mane, not the dark purple that shows up in most of the photographs. The base body color seems to come through without problems so I’m not sure why the points insist on being so much bluer than they are in real life.

Her silver doodle pony markings are bolder than the norm, but that’s because this little gal wouldn’t settle for anything less. She’s here to make a splash and remind you that purple is the color of royalty for a reason. (That reason being tyrian purple was crazy expensive at the time, but don’t tell her that!)

This little guy is part of a trio that I painted to round out the colors I had painted the Pony mold in. For the most part I tended to pick fantasy colors for this little guy, so this guy, Gumi Bear, and Nachtmaus were meant to bring a little reality back to the mold. (more…)

This little guy is named in German (because Bablefish is my friend) and in theory translates into ‘Night Mouse.’ I had a bad habit of misspelling it as Natchmaus, so who the heck knows what he’s called at this point. Most likely his new owner renamed him something less whimsical anyway. (Woe) (more…)
