Description
This listing is for a 1:9 (Breyer Traditional) scale wooden bridge with two angled end pieces. The bridge can be used with or without the angled end pieces and is meant for use in western trail class setups and meets the requirements for the 4H rules and the AHQA SHW467.4 Ride over wooden bridge.
The angled end pieces can be used together as jump decorations or for a veeeeery tiny coop jump.
The jump shown was a prototype, barcodes will not appear on normal pieces.
I have a variety of older Traditional Scale models, so if you would like a photo with a different model, just let me know!
Product Info
The bridge is made of basswood and has been sanded, assembled with wood glue, and can be ordered unfinished, stained, painted, or aged. Painted and stained bridges have been coated with matte varnish so you can wipe it with a damp cloth, but you can’t soak it in water.
It’s relatively sturdy, so it should hold up to basic wear and tear, but is not intended for young children. This is meant for adults (or young adults) who are using it for a careful play, display, Photo Show, or Live Show setups.
The bridges in the photos are only examples. I do my best to make sure things are a consistent shape and fit together well, but these are handmade items so they will not be 100% identical and I can’t guarantee parts from one bridge will work perfectly with parts from another.
Order Timelines
These bridges are made to order. Depending on the amount ordered and my current wood stockpile, there may be a delay in construction.
If you need a bridge by a certain date: please contact me first to make sure I can fulfill the order (custom_orders@Martha.net).
Otherwise the bridge will take roughly a week to build, as both the glue, paint, and sealer all need time to dry before shipping.
Sizing
The wood is cut by hand and then sanded, so sizes are approximate.
The bridge is 10 11/16 inches long, 4 11/16 wide, and 9/16 inches tall. They are made from a 1/2 x 1/16 planks and 1/8 x 1/2 framing boards.
For 1:9 (Breyer Traditionals, Mego) this would be 8 feet 3/16 inches long, 3 feet 6 3/16 inches wide, and 5 1/16 inches tall, with 4 1/2 inch wide boards.
For 1:12 (Breyer Classics, Dollhouse, Model Cars) this would be 10 feet 8 1/4 inches long, 4 feet 8 1/4 inches wide, and 6 3/4 inches tall, with 6 inch boards.
For 1:16 (Stone Pebbles (some molds), Ertl, RC Tanks) this would be 14 feet 3 inches long, 6 feet 3 inches wide, and 9 inches tall, with 8 inch boards. (Note: It’s too tall in this scale for the 4H rules which have a max height of 8 inches.)
To see if this bridge will work with your model, it can be helpful to assemble a paper version and see how it looks. I do take custom orders, so if you need a fence that’s larger or smaller, please drop me a line at custom_orders@Martha.net.
