Description

This custom listing is for two 3×5 rectangular bases with Template A post holes and two five-inch three-rail fences.

One base is all grass and one is sand with a grass border. Both bases have Template A post holes. One fence is white and one is dark walnut.

Bases

The wooden bases are 5 inches long and 3 inches wide, at the widest points. They are sanded, painted black and green, finished in a matte sealer, and then covered with model train sand and grass. The grass is attached in multiple layers with a mixture of water and Elmer’s wood glue, the sand is attached with a mix of water and Elmer’s white glue. The bases have been through several tap and wind tests to make sure it’s pretty sturdy.

An additional bag of sand and grass is included in case the base is ever damaged. The terrain can be attached with a mixture of water and Elmer’s glue. Instructions on how to repair the base (and how it was made) can be found here.

The base will ship in a handmade cardstock box that can be used for storage. The box has two flaps that can be curled to hold the base securely and release with pull tabs.

Fences

The fences are 5 inches long and 2 inches tall and made from basswood in roughly 1:32 scale using 1/4 inch square dowels and 3/16th inch wide planks. They are assembled with wood glue and coasted with matte varnish.

One fence has been painted white and the other stained with Minwax 2716 Dark Walnut. They are relatively sturdy, so should hold up to basic wear and tear, but are not intended for children.
