Description

This listing is for a pre-made scale model liverpool water hazard, which can also be flipped over to serve as a painted plywood-top bridge. It’s meant for western trail class setups or under jumps as a liverpool. (The horses, bases, and other props are not included.)

Neither the AHQA nor the 4H have any rules for water hazards, but it does meet the requirements for the AHQA SHW467.4 Ride over wooden bridge.

When used as a Liverpool, the USEA Show Jumping rules allow for a max width of 5′ 10″. FEI liverpool rules and Equestria liverpool rules allow for a max of 6′ 6″.

I have a bunch of the Breyer Stablemate molds so if you’d like to see it with another model, just let me know!

Construction & Details

The liverpool is made of basswood and has been sanded, assembled with wood glue, painted with acrylics, and the ‘wet’ areas have been heavily glossed. The rest is coated with matte varnish so you can wipe it with a damp cloth, but you can’t soak it in water.

It’s water-resistant but not long-term water-proof. You can fill it with a tiny amount of water for a live show or photoshoot (see the Indian Pony pic) but if you let it sit, it will likely get damaged.

The liverpool is relatively sturdy, so it should hold up to basic wear and tear, but is not intended for young children. This is meant for adults (or young adults) who are using it for careful play, display, Photo Show, or Live Show setups.

Actual Size

The liverpool is 3 inches long, 1 1/2 inches wide, and 7/32 inches tall. The framing boards are 5/32 x 5/32 and the ‘plywood’ bottom is 1/16 thick.

Scale Size

For 1:48 (Large Micro Minis, O scale) this would be 12 feet long, 6 feet wide, the sides would be 10 1/2 inches high, and the water area would be 7 1/2 inches deep. This would be too high for a 4H bridge (max height of 8 inches) too wide for a USEA liverpool (max width of 5′ 10″) but okay for FEI and Equestria.

For 1:32 (Stablemates, 1 gauge) this would be 8 feet long, 4 feet wide, the sides would be 7 inches high, and the water area would be 5 inches deep.

To see if this bridge will work with your model, it can be helpful to assemble a paper version and see how it looks. I do take custom orders, so if you need a fence that’s larger or smaller, please drop me a line at custom_orders@Martha.net.
