Sixteen Tons of Light

Nearish Future, Soft Science Fiction

Humans have expanded into the universe and the Company makes good profit off supplying the far flung colony worlds with supplies, service personnel, and technology. Carson is one of those personnel (a xenobiologist with a knack for fauna control) and Ship is, well his Ship.

“You load sixteen tons, what do you get? Another day older and deeper in debt.” — Sixteen Tons by Tennessee Ernie Ford

About the ‘Verse

This was… you know, I have no real excuse for this ‘verse. I had a writing assignment for college that needed a first person narrative and I just wanted to write about the adventures of a Space Steve Irwin (only more science-y) and his awesome talking spaceship. It quickly evolved past that into something broader (and every so often not-Carson-based) and into one of my favorite places to play.

Sadly I am not a biologist (xeno or otherwise) so the stories are light on the science right now. If I want to get this verse off the ground I really need to do some research to move this out of pillow soft science fiction territory.

These are listed in roughly chronological order. Daily Snippits are just random writing, Works-in-Progress (WiP) are so noted, and everything else is a finished work.
