Urban Fantasy/Science Fiction
Torchwood is a spin-off from the 2005 revival of long-running science fiction program Doctor Who, Torchwood aired four series between 2006 and 2011. Torchwood follows the exploits of a small team of alien hunters, who make up the Cardiff-based, fictional Torchwood Institute, which deals mainly with incidents involving extraterrestrials, often tracking down aliens and defending the planet from alien and nefarious human threats. Its central character is Captain Jack Harkness, an immortal former con-man from the distant future; Jack originally appeared in the 2005 series of Doctor Who. (Wikipedia, IMDB)

About the ‘Verse
I love Doctor Who and who can resist a show build around Jack Harkness? I haven’t written as much on this fandom simply because it wasn’t the focus of the LiveJournal challenge prompt communities I was in. Someday I’ll have to do a marathon run of it and write a few more.
I was quite fond of the first few seasons, but once it moved to the US I gave up on it. A show like Torchwood really can’t jump the shark, but it sort of did. There are also books and radio plays and comics… none of which I have ever bothered to track down.
