Science Fantasy/Soft Science Fiction
Stargate Atlantis is a spin-off series of Stargate SG-1 and follows the adventures of Lt. Colonel John Sheppard and his military team from Earth that, along with two dozen other teams, explore distant planets in the Pegasus Galaxy. They use an alien device known as a Stargate that was built millions of years ago by an advanced race of humans known as the Ancients. The expedition is based in the Lost City of Atlantis which was built millions of years ago and abandoned 10,000 years ago by the Ancients. After encountering a powerful enemy known as the Wraith and going to war with them for one hundred years, the Ancients ultimately lost and were forced to submerge their city beneath the ocean, which, in the Stargate universe, is the source of the Greek myth of the Lost City of Atlantis. About the ‘Verse
I may only have dabbled in Stargate SG-1, but Stargate Atlantis took my Muses and ran rampant! This is one of the few universes where I wrote outside of challenges on a regular basis. There just so much good story fodder to sink your teeth into here! 😀
Which also means LOTS of AUs (Alternate Universes)… some of which are in the process of getting their serial numbers scrubbed off. That will be noted, so if you want to read the non-fandom version you can.
If you haven’t seen the series (or the follow-up movies), I would highly recommend them! There are a few bumps along the way that I didn’t agree with, but overall it’s a great series. And it’s an even better fandom! ?
Stories
Since there are so many AU’s (Alternate Universes) this time around there are quite a number of subsections to this page. The unaffiliated stories are grouped at the bottom this time because there are so many of them.
Everything can be assumed to be PG and Gen unless otherwise specified.
Ashes, Ashes (1+?)
Cirsola is caught in the grip of a devastating plague that has lasted for decades. Their best scientific minds are helpless against the virus so when a group of unsuspecting travelers comes through the gate promising aid, they seize the opportunity. Literally.
Part 1 : Three Score and Nine
Part 2 : Bread, Salt and Oil
Part 3 : Points in the Sand
Part 4 : That Cannot Mend
Part 5 : The Galton Hypothesis
Part 6 : It Comes To This
Context : 100 words
Little Grey Lies : 100 words (John/Elizabeth, PG13)
Sometimes the lies you tell others are just mirrors of the lies you tell yourself. Written for sga_flashfic Bad Sex challenge. This is the drabble that kickstarted the AU! 🙂
Hushed and White With Snow (+??)
Imaginary Gate Team 5 (25+?)
I’m never quite sure how to explain this team or how they end up sneaking into as many fanfics (and original fiction!) as they do. While they have their own storylines and ever more complex backstories, they are also fond of grabbing slots as background extras. Because of that, these are the fics where IGT5 is front and center to the storylines.
Amy’s Mission Report : Two pages (webcomic-ish)
Just because you have had your dominant hand injured does not mean you let the rest of your team draw straws about who gets to do the mission report. It gives John headaches. (Imaginary Gate Team 5 would like to point out this is all Rodney’s fault because if he wasn’t setting such a bad example for the other geeks Steven wouldn’t be so determined to find a working ZPM and outdo him, just to see the look on his face. Which would be priceless, but is not worth getting eaten for. *nod*)
Ant : 100 words
There is a power in names. (Sgt. Antoine Bellany character study.)
Apples to Oranges : 200 words
She swallowed the spider to catch the fly — Children’s Song

Forgotten Rainbows : 115 words

Gate Team 5 vs. the Space Bunnies! : 100 words

The first time Steven met Matt. In the dark. With zombies.
M7G-512 (or: Why Gate Team 5 is No Longer Allowed To Write Their Own Mission Reports) : 264 words
Not everyone is good at paperwork, and Matt would definitely be one of those people.
Never Say Wombat : 445 words
It’s GT5. In the snow. And what else can I say? I blame my SillyMuse. ^_^
Numbers Game : 100 words

Sgt. Amy Myer character study.
Why Botany and Xenobotany are Not The Same Thing : 100 words
Written for drabbles Day 21 Prompts: Noun/Object: Horse (Mule/Donkey/Zebra).
The Short End of Forever (4)
This is a tiny little series. The first drabble (Songs of Home) was written and then someone asked for a follow-up (Family)… and then I figured why not write out the whole darned thing? But instead of a proper series of drabbles, I just rolled it all up into one fic. The ‘verse has started to spawn other stories and they are listed in chronological story order between the original two drabbles.
The Short End of Forever : 1,100 words
This fanfic is a collection of 11 drabbles (100 words) strung together. It includes the previously posted drabble “Songs of Home” and a split version of the follow-up “Family.”
~*~*~*~
Songs of Home : 100 words
Title says it all on this one.
Faith and Theory : 580 words
Rodney skips dinner and Teyla goes looking for him.
Family : 100 words
Sequel to Songs of Home, in apology. See? I can do happy endings!
Where the Ocean Meets the Sky (7+??)
For ten thousand years the city slept beneath the sea, dreaming of people she’d never met. Faces, names, lives all carefully teased from a mind in stasis, oblivious to her interrogation. Because Atlantis can wait, but she wants to know who she’s waiting for.
This is the story of the city that might have been. An AI created to guide the Atlantis Expedition Janus knew was coming. She’s an electronic symbiote limited by the harsh lessons learned from the Asurans. A powerful ally, hidden safely away and waiting…
Note: This Dark AU is canon until The Siege (season 1), at which point the timeline splits. In this ‘verse the Daedalus was not sent to Atlantis because the war at home has taken a turn for the worse and they cannot spare the firepower.
Almost Superman : 169 words
He only has to fail once.
Equivalent Exchange : 100 words
Some things are only gained through loss.
