Mold: Saddlebred (G2)
Color: Flaxen Chestnut
Status: Painted 200? and Sold 200?
This was a custom order which included straightening the neck, which I hadn’t done before on the mold.
It was an interesting move, since it required lifting and turning of the head and it didn’t quite even out. The problem was that in order to soften the neck enough to move the head, the head started getting mailable.
If I try it again, I think I’ll just cut the head off and rebuild the neck instead of trying to bend it around. The neck ended up a little rougher than I would like and even with plenty of in-process photos and a final approval, the customer wasn’t as happy with the change.
I’d also change up the ribbons, I think the ones I painted on later Hackney’s came out a bit better. They might not as sturdy, but I think they’re a bit more realistic.
