Schneekatze is German for “Snow Cat”, since this little gal looks like she’s wandered into a snowdrift mid-hunt. I had a lot of fun painting Schatten-Grün and Tao Vert, so I figured it was time for another stab at the color.
Paint, pastels, pencils and a little permanent marker help add depth to her stripes, but her splash overo markings are a crisp flat white. She’s got realistic brown eyes and natural hooves, sealed off in a smooth matte finish.
Since I put a little more mix into the mixed media this time around, her coat’s not quite smooth enough for big ring Live Show Quality (LSQ). She’s meant primarily a shelf piece, but she’d probably do well in the photo show rings or in smaller live shows.
