Mold: Warmblood (G2)
Color: Red-bay and Gold Tobiano
Status: Painted 2005 and Sold Oct 2005
This little guy was one of my favorites, the bright red and gold coated with the heavy gloss looked stunning on the shelf. I was rather tempted to keep him for my home herd, but I was starting to transition out of the hobby and was rather merciless when it came to keeping the shelves clean.
I had painted him after a random Wikipedia ramble that ended with research into the various historical coat-of-arms. Since his pose wouldn’t look out of place on a shield, I picked appropriate colors and named him ‘Sanguine’ for red/blood and ‘Courant’ for running.
He was painted towards the end of my customizing run, as you can tell from the crisp photos taken in my old lightbox, although the color came out a bit oddly. (The new lightbox has upgraded tracing paper sides and is finally turning out photos to match.)
I’ll probably take a stab at the same color combination again, although a nice dark blue would probably look nice as well, or maybe a purple and copper. *ponders*
