The Fat Pony magnets are a rainbow of colors and patterns, but this little gal is the only sabino in the current herd!
She’s dressed in the same Apple Red as #039, but her black points add a pop of contrast and her white markings are more chrome than roan. She makes an awesome addition to my red pony lineup and now I’m itching to bring a little more sabino into the mix! 🙂
As is the norm with my magnets, she’s meant to live in the kitchen (or office) and is coated with several layers of gloss sealer. She can be wiped clean with a damp cloth… but probably shouldn’t go for a swim!
The Fat Ponies are hand-cast in resin from a handmade silicone mold of my own sculpture and thus no two will be exactly alike. I’m still learning how to make molds and how to resin cast, so things aren’t perfect (yet!). I’ve tried to show off any flaws in the photos and description.
The magnets used are small half-inch diameter round ceramic magnets. They are strong enough to hold up paper on a swinging door, but not cardstock. If you would like a stronger neodymium magnet instead, convo me for a custom pony! 🙂
Ponies are roughly 2.25 inches from nose to tail and 1.5 inches from hoof to mane. She was cast from the first generation OOMOO molds, but before I made the magnet leveling jig so her magnet is not quite flush. Her back is relatively flat, but needed some carving and added resin to clean her up.
Medium: Liquitex White Gesso, FolkArt Acrylics (2901 Apple Red), and Apple Barrel Acrylics (20504 Black).
