Puddlejump (Custom Breyer Mini Whinnie Grazing Foal)

Puddlejump - Custom Breyer Mini Whinnie Grazing Foal - Martha Bechtel - Left

Puddlejump is a Breyer Mini Whinnie Grazing Foal painted a dark blue-bay blanket Appaloosa, with brown eyes, a small star, and a glossy finish. I’ve had a decent go at removing his seams and logo, but these little equines are meant as fun shelf pieces and not Live (or Photo) Show competitors.

Puddle might not have water to splash in like his sibling Gelbspritz, but he’s just as playful! Named after the small spaceships in Stargate Atlantis, this little guy is ready to explore… just as soon as he’s done eating. 😉

This mold isn’t really prone to tipping over, but I was having fun making the bases, so he got one too! He’s permanently attached to a wooden base that has been covered with model train grass. The grass is attached with wood glue and the model is attached with superglue, so the whole thing’s pretty darned sturdy.

He’s roughly 1.5 inches long (with base), 0.5 inches wide, and 0.75 inches high. Breyer claims they’re all 1:64 scale (although the Mini Whinnies molds tend to vary a lot in relative size).

He was started in April 2021 and finished up in June as part of a ‘paint ALL the Mini Whinnies!’ charge.

Medium: Liquitex White Gesso, DecoArt Americana Acrylics (DA093 Raw Sienna), and Apple Barrel Acrylics (20225 Bright Blue, 21484 Admiral Blue, 20503 White, 20504 Black).
