Cupid is a Breyer Mini Whinnie Romping Foal painted a buckskin tobiano with realistic brown eyes, shell hooves, a side snip, and a matte finish. I’ve had a decent go at removing his seams and logo, but these little equines are meant as fun shelf pieces and not Live (or Photo) Show competitors.
I tend to lean a lot heavier on the fantasy side of things with these little guys– but this little heartbreaker insisted on cantering into the realistic side of the herd!
The mold is a bit tippy, so he’s permanently attached to a wooden base that has been covered with model train grass. The grass is attached with wood glue and the model is attached with superglue, so the whole thing’s pretty darned sturdy.
He’s roughly 1 inch wide and 1 inch high (with base, he’s 1.5 inches long), and Breyer claims they’re all 1:64 scale (although the Mini Whinnies molds tend to vary a lot in relative size).
He was started in April 2021 and finished up in June as part of a ‘paint ALL the Mini Whinnies!’ charge.
