Bergkam is a Breyer Stablemate G2 Clydesdale/Shire painted to a turquoise faux-Appaloosa with a mottled chocolate brown and copper spotting with gold highlights and a high gloss finish. He has copper mane, tail, hooves, and horn and has semi-realistic gold and copper eyes.
This is a twisted take on the Battle Mountain Turquoise color pattern that I’ve done on a few magnets and other model horses (like Faux Me Twice). Bergkam’s pattern was a lot more fluid and layered– I always love the way it comes out, even if it seems to hate my camera! ๐
He’s had his seams and logo removed, but no other changes were made to the mold. I personally would consider him PSQ and possibly LSQ (depending on the class), but he was painted mainly as a fun shelf piece.
I was trying to come up with a suitably awesome-sounding name via Google Translate and settled on ‘Ridge Dream’ in Dutch.
My camera has always had problems with turquoise (his coat is actually two slightly different shades), so I’ve done my best to get photos in a range of lighting. Someday I’m going to cave and pay for actual photography lessons…
The Breyer Stablemate G2 Clydesdale/Shire is a little under 3 inches tall, 3.5 inches long, and 1.5 inches wide. Per Breyer Stablemates are all 1:32 scale, but it varies a bit between molds.
