Shiloh is a Safari Ltd. TOOB rearing pony painted as a portrait in a palomino tovero with brown eyes, grey and shell hooves, and a matte finish. I trimmed up the seams a little, removed the logo, and glossed the eyes, but this pony was meant as a fun shelf piece and not a Live (or Photo) Show competitor.
The Rearing Pony mold isn’t quite as prone to balance issues as the Running one, but this little one still needed some tweaking to keep from tipping over! I bulked up the right-hind hoof with a little Apoxie Sculpt, which is somewhat noticeable, but it’s sturdy now and still makes a nice shelf piece.
The mold is roughly 2.5 inches wide and 2.5 inches high, so bigger than a Micromini or Mini Whinnie (1:64 scale) and smaller than a Stablemate (1:32)– so maybe 1:50ish?
The portrait was started in July 2021 as a custom request to go with Roddie and was finished up the same month.
Medium: Liquitex White Gesso, DecoArt Americana Acrylics (DA093 Raw Sienna, DA095 Neutral Gray), FolkArt Acrylics (420 Linen), and Apple Barrel Acrylics (20505 Antique White, 21888 Sunkissed Peach, 20503 White, 20504 Black)
