Winter is slowly creeping into Virginia and the year is wrapping up– and since 2021 is going to be an iffy year in terms of art, it also means packing everything up.
I’m trying to get into the habit of putting away all my supplies when I’m done for work for the day, in order to get back to the ‘customizing from a shoebox’ mentality I used to have. I’m still going to do art, but the horde needs to been hidden away (and not underfoot).
So one of the big things I’m doing is trying to make a proper To-Do list. It’s been a little depressing… but at least I’m checking things off! 😁
Since last I posted, I did a bit of a run through the old WiP piles and finished off a bunch of the Flat Cat Head magnets. I’d forgotten how much fun these are to paint! 😂
I also did a pair of orange and green Fat Pony magnets as a gift for someone and put the last touches on another pegasus and a white pony. I also did two sets of paint-your-own magnets. I got to test out putting neodymium magnets in the Fat Ponies and it was thankfully a success!
Beyond that I’ve mainly been focuses on photographing and listing all the finished items…
Store & Inventory
As I do a proper inventory this year, I’m posting things to the shop. I’ve still got a lot left to go, so I figured I’d make a list of the remaining things. All magnets unless noted otherwise:
- Fat Ponies (fantasy colors)
- Fat Pegasus
- Dragon Tiles
- Leaping Pony
- Clydesdale Heads
- Horsehead Hearts
- Circle Birds
- Square Paintings
- Wooden Dolphins, birds, crosses
- Other Fat Animals: MinPins, Oracs, Armadillos, Bunnies, Foxes, Songbirds, Dolphins, Cats, Buffalos, Dogs, Owls, Hedgehogs, Barn Owls, Great Horned Owls, Corgis, Dragons, Sleeping Foxes, Sleeping Cats, Hawks, Hippos, Giraffes, etc.
- Safari Ltd animals (model wolves, big cats, whales, etc.)
- TOOB Ponies (model horses)
- Breyer Stablemates (model horses)
- Breyer Mini Whinnies (model horses)
- Model Horse Fencing
- Model Horse Bases
- Handmade Books
It’s… a lot. But hopefully, I can make a nice dent in them over my holiday vacation. I’m not expecting to get it all done, but I have until tax time (April) to finish it up.
I started to make a list of everything I started painting as I packed them away… and then got very very depressed. (Suffice it to say I have a lot of started projects and twice as many bodies waiting to be painted.)
So for now, I’m just taking photos so I know what’s in each box. Next year as I finish them I’ll add them to the inventory counts. My goal for 2021 is to try and focus on creating new sculpts and new molds of existing sculpts so I can sell DIY casts as well as finished products!
