Wooden Cross Magnet #3

Wooden Cross Magnet 003 - Martha Bechtel - Flat Tan

While I was doodling out the more complex patterns on #1 and #2 with the wood glue, I figured it could be fun to do something smoother. So this one has a raised inset on each of the arms and then a raised square in the middle.

It was a fun experiment and I had a lot of room to play around with adding texture using the paint colors. The edges have a mottled silver and gold and I did a bunch of small metallic dots around the square in the center.

All in all, the gloss finish and the metallics make it a little hard to see the details– but I still think it looks pretty good. (I may be slightly biased because I love the feel of the texture of the first two. 😂)

Medium: Liquitex White Gesso, Ceramcoat (2604 Metallic 14K Gold), FolkArt Acrylics (658 Antique Gold, 577 Sahara Gold, 2570 Chocolate Brown, 675 Champagne), and Apple Barrel Acrylics (20504 Black).
