It’s been a messy start to a messy year and other than a failed stab at NaMoPaiMo and daily magnets in January… artistically it’s been a bust.
But as the pandemic becomes the ‘new normal’ it’s getting easier and easier to step back from the crest of my anxiety and get back to things I used to enjoy.
Model Horse Props

My personal store is now open and I’m slowly adding products. For the moment I’m focusing on the bases and fencing, but as I get used to the new format I’ll be adding the magnets and model horses.
I’m still figuring out how to deal with collecting and submitting sales taxes for other states (and if I have to). I’m working on a post about that, but it’s more ‘where can I find the info I need’ and less ‘do this thing’. IANAL and all that. ?
I’m working on updating, storing, and listing all of the bases that I have in stock first. Then I’ll list all the various fencing options (including some kits, if you want to DIY).
Magnets

I started a push back in January to start finishing up partially painted magnets. I have a lot of these little WIPs and I owe it to them to start finishing things!
I also have older sculpts that were never properly cast and a bunch of half-sculpted new critters (and plans for more). If I can just get back off my duff, there will be a lot of colorful critters in the nearish future.
I’ll be posting art updates primarily to my Instagram, but I’d like to get in the habit of weekly updates to the blog as well.
Online Yard Sale

I have what can charitably be called ‘Way Too Many Art Supplies.’ This is roughly 10% of my current stash, which is scattered across the house.
This makes my inner crafter dragon very happy, but leads to severe cluttering and the inability to find the supplies I need. Which leads to buying duplicates… and multiplies the hoard.
It’s like Bellatrix’s vault, only without the magic or the goblins! (Or the awesome dragon.)
So one of the things I’m doing as I go about organizing things is to figure out which supplies need to head off to live in someone else’s hoard.
This will hopefully lead to a Yard Sale section of the store, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed! The heavier less valuable items will most likely be donated locally, but I’ll post online in case anyone in Virginia wants them.
Managing the To-Do List

I’m holding off setting any specific goals to accomplish by next blog post, because I’m trying to focus on the small wins for now. Once I’m a little more confident in my ability to promise things, the To-Do List will be back! ?
