Live From the Autumn Workbench

Live From the Workbench 2019-09-16

I’ve gotten a bit of a second wind in my ‘reorganize ALL the things!’ and I’m both packing for the October Craft Fair and schlepping art supplies down into the basement.

Not that you can tell from my awesome ‘before’ picture…

That being said, I’m going to try and get back into the bi-weekly update schedule for the workbench posts. With hubby going back to work at the end of October, it’s time for me to get back to bullet journaling for realz again!

Prepping for the Craft Fair!

DIY Packaging Design - Cardinal Christmas Ornament

I’m once again going to be at the United Christian Parish Arts and Craft Fair in October! ?

I’m going through the old artwork and bagging and tagging the finished pieces. I had a lot of fun coming up with DIY packaging and I’ll have a post on the how-to’s of that a little later this week.

This is the first time I’ve tried to make proper display packaging and I’m looking forward to not having to dust things before I ship/photograph them. I’ve even added numbering to the ponies so it’s very easy to tell which of the eight mostly-bay horses I’m looking for! ?

I’m also painting (and casting) a bunch of new stuff, so there will be the usual flood on Etsy once the fair is over. Lots of magnets, ornaments, and other fun gifts!

Etsy Plans

Sleeping Corgi Corgiloaf Plaster Magnets Scale Photo

…I’m actually back to the drawing board on this. ?

One of the major problems that I have with making one-of-a-kind art is that it requires a large investment of time in taking photographs and creating the Etsy listings. It’s just not cost-effective for most of the stuff I make.

So for right now, the only things in the Etsy store are going to be non-OOAKs, like the model horse fencing and the raw and prepped resin casts.

After the craft fair, I’ll take a look at my OOAK stock and figure out if it’s something I want to try again. Who knows, maybe I’ll just start doing more craft fairs! ?

Art for Art’s Sake

Messy Workbench Chaos

Whatever my plans turn out to be for this last quarter of 2019, I know that that it will be full of fun artistic chaos! So, onwards! ?
