Saturday Story Prompts [2019.08.10]

1. “You have defeated the dragon, so as I promised, my kingdom is yours…” The King looked around at the crumbling ruins with a frown. “Although you didn’t manage to save very much of it.”

2. She counts the stars until she falls asleep, searching for the hollow space where his world had been.

3. Tamed rocksnakes burrow through the quartz, consuming the impurities as they go and leaving only the purest white crystal behind.

4. The water stretches out into an unbroken horizon, wider than any sea they’ve seen so far, but far shallower. Hip-deep water would normally mean easy wading, but it’s too matted with vegetation to move.

5. As he nears the front, the war descends into a constant roar of clockwork and cannonfire.
