I’ve done… pretty much zero art in January.
There was a custom base order, some cardstock boxes, plaster mother mold experiments, and some cleaning, but no real art. But that’s all about to change! ๐
As folks in the model horse customizing hobby know, February means NaMoPaiMo (National Model Painting Month) time! This is the third annual event and it seems to be growing larger every year.
So this next month with be nothing but model horses! ๐ (And some Fat Animal magnets, because my yearly donation to Big Orange Bash is also coming due soon.)
The NaMoPaiMo Pony

For this year’s event, I’ll be painting a Robin micro mini drafter resin that I won in a
I’ll be doing pretty much the same flailing about as I did for last year’s micro by Maggie Bennett. The mold is crazy important to me and I’m terrified I won’t do a good job!
…Which is the point of NaMoPaiMo– just do eeeet! ๐
Pony Donations

Every year I donate a small herd of Fat Pony magnets to the Big Orange Bash model horse show. The show is a fundraiser for the Large Animal Clinic at the University of Tennessee’s College of Veterinary Medicine.
I’m always torn on what color to paint them (realistic vs fantasy), but the two sets of portrait horses that I did last year really inspired me. I think I may do half and half this year, but there are going to be some fun complicated colors in the mix! ๐
Etsy

I’m still horribly, horribly behind with updating my Etsy store… and it will probably stay that way in Feb. I’m just not going to have the time between NaMoPaiMo and volunteering at Katsucon to get much done.
If you see something go by that you’d like to buy– give me a holler and I can get it up for you! ๐
