The Day After the UCP Craft Fair!

I had a lot of fun at the United Christian Parish Craft Fair and learned so much! (And I beat my sales record for last year, woot!)

…To be fair it was my first ever ‘real’ booth at a craft fair, so I couldn’t help learning things. 😉  (Number one was: ‘stop trying to get so much prep done at the last minute you doof!’)

I vow that next year, if it’s not packed and in the boxes the weekend before, then it’s not making it into the car.

In theory.

Probably.

I know I’m lying, I’m going to stay up until midnight again, for reasons.

What They Really Really Want

Getting to talk to a lot of people (and kids!) gave me great feedback on my items and what they were looking for. I’ve got all sort of plans for how to tweak things for next year (and for the Etsy store).

It was also highly amusing to see people’s reactions to the custom model horse price ranges. They loved the $5 paint chip ponies and the $10 TOOB ponies, but made awesome WTH reactions to the $20 and up prices for the Breyer Mini Whinnies and Stablemates. But I got to chat about the model horse hobby, so that was fun!

The best part for me was selling out of all of my Tiny Books! I’ll get the tutorial on how to make those up and posted this week, but the fact that folks like them has me really chuffed. 😀

Continuous Improvement!

I’ll also be posting some more tutorials and how I plan on doing things better next time as I get my thoughts together. I suppose hindsight is always 20-20, but it makes me feel all pumped up and energized to have so many new ideas!
