Fat Pony #48

Fat Pony Magnet #048 Light Dappled Gray Front

Look, down on the ground! It’s a cloud! It’s a fog! No, it’s… a bit of equine fluff looking for a magnet-friendly surface to call home!

This happy Fat Pony (or low-lying weather phenomenon) is a light dappled-gray with four white socks and a big white blaze. She’s a bit of a scrumble of colors, made from the same color pallet as Rumtumtugger but a little less realistic in outcome.

I painted her while in the midst of an ‘I need one of every color’ spree in March of 2018 when I realized the herd was mostly fantasy ponies. The nice thing about casting your own blanks is that you never run out of chances to try out a new color. ?

I love the way the different tones in her gray pop against certain backgrounds, here’s hoping she gallops off to a new home that will love her just as much!

Medium: Liquitex White Gesso, FolkArt Acrylics (708 Dove Gray, 2932 Steel Gray, 425 Medium Gray, 428 Ballet Pink), and Apple Barrel Acrylics (20504 Black).
