There are some colors that just beg to be on ponies… and Denim was one of them! 😉
Ever since I picked up this CraftSmart blue, I’ve been itching to use it on a horse. The nice thing about the Fat Pony Magnets is that trying out new colors is a lot less risky than it is with Stablemates, because I always have more bodies waiting in the wings. *quietly hoards magnets*
Anywho, this little guy turned out just as dapper as I had hoped, dressed to impress with sparkling white socks and crisp black accents. He’s proof that denim isn’t just for work anymore!
He’s already long gone from the stables so you won’t find him on Etsy, as he was a donation to this year’s Big Orange Bash, but I’ll be coming back to this color again in the future…

The Fat Ponies are hand-cast in resin from a handmade silicone mold of my own sculpture and thus no two will be exactly alike. He has several layers of gloss coating and will stand up to splashes and wiping with a damp cloth… but he probably shouldn’t go for a swim.
Ponies are roughly 2.25 inches from nose to tail and 1.5 inches from hoof to mane. The magnets used are small round ceramic magnets and they are strong enough to hold up paper on a swinging door, but not cardstock.
This little guy was cast from the first generation OOMOO molds, but before the magnet leveling jig (alas!). He has a slightly raised magnet, but it’s not quite level and his back too a bit more prepwork than the later casts. Thankfully that’s not the side folks will see! 😉
