Flat Cat Head #2

Black Tuxedo Flat Cat Head - Front
Black Tuxedo – #002

There’s no kitchen or office that this zen little black tuxedo cat can’t bring a little calm to!

Meet the second in this series of magnets, a snappy black and white tuxedo cat. He’s got a cute pink nose, a nice clean white bib, a purr-sonality that mellows out even the most hectic of rooms.

Flat Cat Head - #002 Black Tuxedo - Handmade Plaster Manget - Scale

This dapper gentleman was painted in acrylics (Apple Barrel and FolkArt) and was finished with a glossy sealer. You can see in the photos that he’s got a bit of a shine, but he’s not as high gloss as some of the other cats.

He is sponge-wipe durable, but please don’t let him go for a swim!

Roughly 2 inches wide by 1.75 inches tall the original cat was sculpted by me in Super Sculpey and used to create a silicone mold. I cast the magnet using a Plaster of Paris and wood glue mixture, with additional layers of wood glue used to help harden the plaster before painting.

Black Tuxedo Flat Cat Head - Back

The magnets on the back will hold him securely to the fridge and should be good for a piece of paper (or two).

Still, this guy is Art and not Toy, so it will still be heading for the morgue if it hits the floor. Or at least his ears will… the magnets are large enough it should protect the rest of him.

Medium: Liquitex Gesso, Apple Barrel Acrylics (20504 Black, 20535 Light Pink), and FolkArt Acrylics (708 Dove Gray)
