I’ve been slowly making my site a bit more Pinterest friendly since a lot of my traffic comes in on the Molding & Casting posts. I’d love to be pulling in more traffic from my other pins, but the main problem I have with Pinterest is that I’m just not a good pinner… I do enjoy browsing pins now and then, but it’s not something I spend my idle time doing. Thus when it comes to the golden rule of Pinterest (Pin Awesome Things Frequently), I’m not very good at it.
Time to fix that! 🙂
I tried out the free trial of Tailwind and while awesome, it costs $119 per year to use and that’s more than my budget will allow. Viralwoot is a little harder to use, but has a free tier that I think will work… which means it’s time for some planning. *does a small planning dance of glee*
100 Pins (and counting…)
I’m allowed to schedule 100 things at a time for free on ViralWoot. If I want to pin one thing an hour, starting at 10am and ending at 10pm, that would be 13 things. So I’ve got a little over seven days (14ish things a day) to work with.
I’d like to have my pins split equally between writing and artwork, with a few odds and ends (like the How To Etsy posts). My general idea was to create boards where I could post both my content and other people’s content as well as boards that have just my stuff. Right now the goal is to have a third of my pins coming from my own work, but not necessarily to a me-only board.
So with fourteen things, five would be mine and nine would be other folks. If I split that somewhat evenly, I’d get six writing, six artwork, and two wildcards pins. Four of the writing and artwork pins would be my own work (two from each) and if I had a wildcard to pin I’d use one of those slots. I’d be pinning one writing and one artwork to my own personal boards and everything else to the shared boards.
Just looking at it from a distance (yay spreadsheets!) it looks like something that could work… so time to get experimenting! 😀
