Wooden Dolphin #003 – Metallic Green-Blue-Purple
And lo, upon the waves rode a rainbow of dolphin awesomeness!
Well okay, more like half a rainbow, give or take. (The awesome half, of course ๐ ).
I’ve been pretty much addicted to this color combination ever since I tried it out on the Pimped Rides Live model horse donation piece. As soon as I started playing around with the dolphins, I knew it was one I had to try out.
His pattern is rough approximation of a ocean-themed rainbow (or an oil slick, although those and oceans tend to mesh badly) and the glossy sealer really makes him pop against a fridge!
Turns out this flash of metallics was just the thing to catch a Etsy browser’s eye and he was the first of the dolphins to swim off for distant shores. I had a lot of fun painting him and I hope he keeps swimming for years to come. ๐
Finished off in several layers of gloss sealer on the front and matte on the back, this little magnet is water-resistant, not water-proof. You can wipe it off with a damp sponge, but donโt let it go for a swim!
The ArtMinds Wooden Dolphins are made from plywood and are roughly 4 inches long by 2.25 inches high. They have one strip of flat magnet on the back that will hold them securely in place on the fridge.
Medium: Gesso, Apple Barrel Acrylics (20504 Black), and Ceramcoat Acrylics (02604 Metallic 14k Gold). ArtMinds Simple Dolphin Shape (10327315)
