Remember my grand plan about working with the Etsy listings so they would fall into a pattern of one listing renewing every day? Well apparently I should have done a little more research into the actual functionality of the auto-renew first. *sighs*
The ‘auto-renew’ date is more of a ‘will renew within 48 hours after this date’ marker than anything concrete. Add that to the fact I’ll be focusing in on the body box trade for the next month and it looks like the ‘hands-free’ date of August 25th is a no-go. So… new plans! 🙂
Perfect Worlds Take Time
I’m going to schedule the new start/relaunch date for the store for October 1st. Everything up until then will be either an auto-renewal or an item that is listed as soon as it is available to list. So for the next two months I’m not going to worry about the one-a-day rule or trying to make sure categories don’t duplicate too often or any such complexities.
I’m just going to focus on getting nice solid listings (good photos, good descriptions) for at least 17 items in each category. The basic plan I came up with is to list one thing a day starting with the top category and working my way down. If I end up with more than seventeen items in a category, I will list the ‘overflow’ in the second or third slots for that day.
- Model Horses and Animals / Dog Magnets / Horse Magnets
- Model Horse Props / Other Animal Magnets / Cat Magnets
- Horse Magnets / Writing Prompts / Dog Magnets
- Cat Magnets / Model Horses and Animals / Other Animal Magnets
- Dog Magnets / Model Horse Props / Writing Prompts
- Other Animal Magnets / Horse Magnets / Model Horses and Animals
- Writing Prompts / Cat Magnets / Model Horse Props
After October 1st, all new items will be worked into the schedule on the matching day (or overflow day). I will be taking some of the stuff up to a craft fair later in the year, so there should be an influx of the leftovers from that.
And if all else fails… I’ll just make a new plan and try again! 😀
