It’s a game– it’s the Game, but it’s only because they keep playing.
He watches centuries slip by, dimly aware of their passing, as he turns the world around him into a playground of mortality.
The problem with games is that there are rules… and the people who play by them lose. Honor, morality, fairness; but life isn’t fair and the Game less so. Evil wins, not because Good is dumb, but because Good is Good when it can’t afford to be.
So he changes the rules.
Good won’t attack old men on sacred ground.
Evil deserves what it finds.
