Wooden Dolphin Magnet #008

Posted on June 27, 2017January 22, 2019 by Martha Bechtel
Wooden Dolphin #008 – Pink Doodle Front

It’s a Porpoise with with a Purpose!

…And that purpose is to hold up your shopping list, class schedules, or important corporate memos. Doodle dolphins are the workhorses of the marine sealife tree (magnetica awesomus) and this little gal is raring to go!

She was painted in Light Pink with Bright Magenta and White doodles in the pattern of her more realistic Bottlenose dolphin cousins. She’s been sealed with multiple coats of Liquitex Gloss sealer on the front and Matte on the back, so she’s got a bit of a shine. The sealer is pretty durable, but she’s cut out for life on land and not the sea. Or the sink. (Alas.)

The wooden dolphin cutout is roughly 4 inches long and about 2.5 inches high and has a strip of flat ceramic magnet on the back. The magnet holds up to three sheets of printer paper, per my highly scientific method of ‘open and close the door quickly and see if it falls off.’

Need a dolphin with a little more holding power? I’d be happy to paint you a custom ‘fin of your very own!

Check her out on Etsy!

Medium: Liquitex White Gesso, Apple Barrel Acrylics (20535 Light Pink, 20591 Bright Magenta, 20504 Black). ArtMinds Simple Dolphin Shape (10327315)
