July is another Camp NaNoWriMo attempt, so a lot of time will be spent writing prose… but I don’t want to let up on my Etsy improvements! 🙂
I’ve been spending a bunch of time reading up on the various tips and tricks for bringing in more traffic (and thus more sales). Thus far the one thing everyone agrees on is you need a decent number of listings that renew on a regular basis in order to rank well.
So for July I’m going to be focusing on a few things:
- Creating listings for all of the finished artwork.
- Maintaining the listing rotation, so that something is listed every day (either new or a relist).
- Planning out what I need to make to ‘fill in’ the gaps in the store.
- Working out a listing posting strategy for Pinterest, Facebook, and Instagram.
Creating new listings is the main goal, but I’m also trying to find ways to pull in more eyeballs with what I already have. I’ve been working on tweaking the existing listings (more on that later) and now I want to see if I can use Instagram and Pinterest to bring in more visitors.
I’ve had good luck with Pinterest and the molds and casting posts on the blog, but no so much the Etsy store…
As you can see ‘Social Media’ makes up roughly 3% of my traffic. I’m not sure what the total should actually be, but right now I’d like to get it up to 10%. I need to sit down a really work out what sort of things work best for each site and how to get things setup in a schedule so I can set it and forget it!
It looks like that will mean making a bunch more How-To articles and some Infographics, but that’s what summer if for, right? 😉
