She hadn’t realized Atlantis sang, not until she was standing under old familiar skies in the unexpected silence. She brushed off the nebulous sense of loss as missing friends, missing the sea, missing the constant edge of threat that permeated every aspect of their lives.

Five days into a two-week leave she was back at Stargate Command, hovering. They sent her out again with orders to ‘relax.’

Seven days into the two-week leave, it wasn’t just Elizabeth eyeing the gate with frustrated longing. This time Jack stopped and looked at them, and with a wiry smile, he sent them home.
