Into the Abyss!

2017 Blogging Schedule

Remember when I said I was going to sit down and put some thought into what this blog was going look like in 2017? Well I did! ๐Ÿ˜€

It was accidental organization… I had to do something while I was waiting for the paint to dry on my small army of Fat Animal Magnets. (Christmas gifts, I can haz!)

So, looking over 2015 and 2016, my posts boiled down to a few things:

  1. Artwork
  2. Writing
  3. How-to/Informational posts
  4. Status/Planning posts

I plan on continuing to post these sorts of things, so I figured I should base the new posting schedule around that. I really want to focus in on getting new stories and new artwork done, so I was trying to push those things to the forefront. However I also have a lot of older Artwork and Writing that needs posting to fill in the gaps in the galleries and archives.

That made the one-post-a-day a little complicated, so I figured I would need three timeslots to sort them all out! ๐Ÿ™‚

  • (9am) – New Content
  • (2pm) – Old Content
  • (9pm) – Status Reports

Thus if I have something to post I automatically know what time it will be posted… but what day? I did a mock-up schedule that you can see in the image above, but the more I looked at it the more it I’m not sure how well it will work.

I tend to work in waves for New Content, sometimes it’s mostly Art and sometimes mostly Writing. So setting aside days I can only use for one or the other just means there will be a lot of empty slots in the calendar. So I think the 9am posts will be ‘as I get them finished’ instead of a set schedule. (Obviously the Saturday Story Prompts will stay put! ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

The Old Content and the Status Reports are easy enough to fit into a schedule, so hmm… *pokes calendar*

January will be my test month and I’ll review the progress come February and then adjust as needed.

ONWARDS! ๐Ÿ˜€
