1. In the caves you learn that death always follows light.

2. She sung the pack awake when the sun rose behind a layer of clouds and her sister led the call when the day broke on blue skies.

3. “Have you ever stopped to think about why we have these rules before you break them?” The elder wizard asked tiredly as they finished quenching the last of the fire demons.

4. Downtown was half office buildings and half industrial yards and for the first time in her life the phrase ‘wrong side of the train tracks’ actually made sense.

5. I have spent my life collecting other people’s memories. Photographs, keepsakes, stories plucked from the rubble and displayed in art galleries in the vain hope that I can keep the world from another war.
