The last place Simon expected to wake up was on an alien spaceship, but there are worse ways to start a NaNo novel…
This is the daily posting of my 2016 NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) attempt at a novel. It’s a brand new world and new fictives and although I gave a shot at planning things (see: Chasing Falling Stars), it’s another pantsing effort. So MuseFics away! 🙂
Read at your own risk/amusement: There will most likely be spelling and grammatical errors afoot as well as flat out bad writing, info dumps, plot holes, contradictions/retcons, uneven characterization and pacing.
Daily Wordcount: 185
Total Wordcount: 8,075 (includes Title, Chapter Headers, etc.)

Grand Plans and Other Pipedreams
“Well this weekend was a wash.” The Writer grumpily took a seat on the couch and fished out a can of Diet Coke from the ever-helpful inter-dimensional cushions. “I had such grand plans!”
“Win some, lose some.” Said the Muse with a shrug. “This is NaNo, it never goes as expected. I’m honestly a little amazed that we’ve managed to keep the daily writing going this long without something derailing us, MuseFic or not.”
“…That’s not really comforting.” The Writer said.
“Look, I’ve been doing this with you for what, all your life?” The Muse gave her Writer an amused smile. “If nothing else you are stubbornly putting words on paper. Even if those words are mostly flailing about instead of actual prose.”
“I have prose!” Objected the Writer, trying to ignore the very small pile of paper that was the actual story thus far. “I’m just using NaNo to world-build. And fictive-build.”
The Muse rolled her eyes. “Well think about using it to write a rough draft.”
“Sush you.” Said the Writer and went off to world-build in her dreams.
