Their guide led them to a waterfall, curling long and low across the river. Still silent, save for a sing-song chant the Stargate couldn’t translate, he gestured at the waves.

“Well we’re not crossing that.” Rodney glared at the whitewater. “There’s no sign of anything on the other side,” he waved his PDA at the opposite shore. “And I am not walking back with wet boots. Again.”

The guide crooned something suitably mystical, summoning crystalline towers from the river floor.

The team watched pieces click into place with metallic chimes.

“We really need to work on your definition of ‘anything’.”
