Pegasus fairy tales don’t wait for happy endings to find true love. There are no tidy resolutions, no happily-ever-afters, because Pegasus stories never end.

It frustrates John as much as John’s stories frustrate Ronon.

John wants the villain vanquished, the hundred years of peace, the hand of the princess. Ronon wants the king to act when the first son goes missing, wants villagers to fight their own dragons, wants princesses like Leia, not Snow White.

Eventually John stops adding ‘rocks fall, everyone dies’ to pauses in Ronon’s serial tales, and Ronon stops asking ‘and then what?’ at every happily-ever-after.

Eventually.
