Summary: Written for Last Drabble Writer Standing (ldws), Round 2, Challenge 3: From a certain point of view… This one came in a solid second place and won a Mod’s pick!

One plus one was two, except that Harry kept adding and subtracting until Luna wasn’t sure if she was three or four or a lost letter wandering in the sea of numbers.

Hermione plus Cormac was zero. Harry plus Hermione was three (because Ron was always there, even when he wasn’t). People math; dancing, spinning numbers that never quite added up. But she almost understood… So she followed him, counting.

Then it was Snape plus Harry and the numbers ran into infinity and back in furious calculation. Fearless, she jumped into the tide, breakwaters between the waves.

“I don’t think…”
