“You can cook?” Gwen blinked at the oddly domestic campfire scene.

“Sort of hard to live through the nineteenth century twice and not pick up the habit.” Jack grinned, crafting what appeared to be flatbreads.

“I suppose.” Gwen unloaded her collected firewood, trying not to wonder where he’d scavenged the supplies. “You’ve gotten the locator beacon working?”

“I said I know how to cook, never said I liked to.”

“Which means no.”

“Which means it’s time for dinner, soon as Rhys and Ianto get back.” He paused to test the stew. “Could be worse, we could be out of coffee.”
