“I hate multiple choice.” Sam stared morosely at the Animal/Mineral/Vegetable checkboxes for ‘Alien Lifeform’, but the mission report refused to spontaneously reformat.

“Just draw a box that says ‘other’,” John offered helpfully. “Saves a lot of time.”

“Saves you time,” Sam snorted, “I have to fix them later.”

John chuckled and Sam pointed meaningfully at John’s own pile of IOA paperwork. He got back to work with a ‘yes ma’m’ and an unsubdued smile.

Sam finally checked all three, ignoring bright red instructions. She still hadn’t gathered the courage to ask why it included prohibitions against finger-painting and interpretive dance.
