Rough Outlines of the Blog-to-come

Vroom!

January has been a chaotic month, but things are starting to settle down again and I can get moving on some of the major projects for this year!

As I’ve mentioned before, 2014 brings with it the complete overhaul of the blog’s design. I’m transitioning from the multi-threaded blog that was the site’s rebirth in 2010 and focusing more on producing and organizing content that people find useful/interesting. There will still be all of the Horse/Warcraft/Writing/Business goodness there was before, this time it will be easier to find. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I’m sticking with the Boilerplate theme as my base, since I’m not quite up to maintaining my own full-theme but I’m getting vicious with the edits I’m making to the childtheme.

So far I’ve ripped out all the header category buttons, hacked off the sidebar, and moved the Blogroll to it’s own dedicated page. I haven’t built up the Learn Things page yet, but that’s on the block for today. The only remnants of the multi-blog are the categories and category pics on the posts…

I’m working on learning how to create page and post templates so that things like the Saturday Story Prompts and the Custom Model Horse posts will require a lot less formatting on my part to put together. (Plus it would allow me to add dynamic content to them when new books or horses went up for sale.)

The end result will hopefully be a dynamic website that will look good at any browser width (give or take) and one where folks can actually find all the shiny content I’ve worked so hard to create! ๐Ÿ™‚

…and occasionally read some rambling from the blog, because I’m not going to pretend that not-rambling is anywhere in my future plans. ๐Ÿ˜‰
