All The King’s Horses (Baron’verse)

‘Verse: Baron’verse (Southside Dumppack)
Length/Rating: 100 words, PG, Gen
Pairings/Warnings: None
Summary: It’s never a good day to die. (Meg’s POV)
Prompt: Random roll: 3. Urban/Suburban Fantasy and 1. Baron’verse.

She doesn’t like being an Alpha. Not because she can’t lead or because she’s afraid of the target it paints on her back, at least not overly so. She’s more than willing to spearhead the charge; like General Washington marshalling the troops, she’ll take one for the team without blinking an eye– but it’s not always her eyes that blink.

Washington went through three horses in one of his battles. Poised between the armies, a beacon of courage in a rain of bullets and canon fire, he rallied the troops and saved the day.

But it didn’t save the horses.
