I don’t know what it is about horses picking their own colors– but this little guy pulled the same trick Rhymer did and refused the chrome I had planned. I think he would have made a cute little tovero, but he had much simpler ideas!
Cowboy was painted with a base of shaded turquoise and then layers with multiple shades of green and teal pastel. Once the pastels hit the pony I knew the color had taken off on a wild tangent– he ended up much more green than I had been anticipating and once I got on the flaxen mane and tail he outright refused any more chrome. Or gloss.
He’s one stubborn horse!
Anywho, his seams and logo removed have been removed, but no other changes were made to the mold. His eyes are flat black, although I did hit them up with some gloss so they catch the light.
