This little guy is only an inch tall, who knew he’d take almost five months to make it back off the workbench! (You can see in-progress pictures of the little over here : MH Copyright – Part I.)
Actually, this little guy is a good example of why I’m not sure I’m going to be taking custom orders next year. He sat on my workbench for well over a month, 99.9999% finished, but I couldn’t stop tweaking his paint job. I need to learn to let go– only I have no idea how to practice that skill. o_O;;
Anywho, as you can see by the previous in-progress post, this little guy is a combination of acrylics and pastels. I was able to get what I think is a nice color depth to him, but as always the photos don’t do the real life version justice.
I would have like to be able to go in and fix all the flaws on the mold (especially once I started blowing up the photos to greater than life-sized), but alas I’m not a good enough sculptor for that. Gimme ten years to practice and then maybe I’ll be ready to take another go at it! 😉
You’ll note he’s spotting his ever present ear-tip rubs in these photos– I touched him up (yet again) after I edited these, but was too lazy to take new photos. I ended up coating them in two layers of heavy gloss this time, so I’m hoping he made the trip to his new home intact. *crosses fingers*
