Live From The Workbench

Paint-Paint-Paint

I’ve had to abandon using any sort of spray sealer, at least until I can buy a dehumidifier (woo) so for now I’ve swapped to using acrylics and a brush-on sealer. If all goes well I’ll be able to grab a dehumidifier after I get back from the trip, but it looks like pastels are off the table until at least October.

Which isn’t as bad as it sounds– the glossy horses have always been done using a brush-on sealer (glossy always came out cloudy for me) and they look fine. It just means work goes a little slower, and the latest bout of flu’s aside, things are getting done.

Now that I’m feeling better, I’ll have a chance to edit and upload the current photos for both of the open orders tonight as well as the one ‘test’ horse that suffered through my attempts at using the sealer. (Thankfully fantasy horses are rather forgiving, so I was able to ‘re-black’ his faux-bay markings.)

This does, however, mean that I’m not going to be taking any more custom orders for this year. November is NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) and any and all spare time is going to be put towards writing. December is tax time for me, since I have to get all of the business paperwork done and ready to file. (yay?)
