1. The waves grind the mist-gray hull against the rock, time and tide slowly wearing the metal away.

2. Losing weight really was magic and Sammi did brisk business on charmed jewelry that helped to melt the pounds away.

3. Our lives are filled with black box objects: things that we know work, but are a little vague on the details. So it shouldn’t have come as such a surprise that aliens were just as lost when it came to repairing their own devices…

4. “This isn’t dignified,” Shel grouched from somewhere under the massive pile of rugs. “We should be using a cart.”

“Since the whole point was not to call attention to your dignity, let’s have less griping and more fleeing.” Thissle chided from under the other corner.

5. For a long moment the dragon simply falls, wings tucked in tight against them as they plummet through the clouds.
