Summary: Written for the #ThursThreads – Week 32 for the required phrase “Is that really the story you wish?”. Story did not place.

“Is that really the story you wish?”

Kim glared at the computer-generated fairy that stuttered in and out as the code behind it tried to process her request. Tied into the house computer and into company cloud servers beyond– still the program stumbled.

“You said you can tell me any story.”

“I can.” The fairy strengthened, this was familiar ground. “I can tell you any tale that was, or is, or yet will be.” It gestured with a wand that gave off silvery blue sparks.

“So tell me,” she snarled, “tell me how my child died.”

“Once upon a time–“
