Two Years of the Megablog!

Okay, so technically various incarnation of my websites have been around a lot longer than two years (back to 1998 in fact), but June 23rd, 2010 was when I officially squished all the blogs together.

As you can see from the analytics below, the last year has been a rather giddy climb in terms of visitors and things that visitors are looking at. I’ve love for the numbers to keep ramping up, but right now I seem to have hit a happy plateau (save for random event-based spikes).

With a total of 1,679 posts now in the archives, I’ve got a solid foundation to build from—I just have to figure out which way to go!

A Year (of posts) in Review

324 Unquiet Bones*
64 Perish Twice
21 Everyday Dragons
21 View from the Molehill

*110 posts came from In Dreams of Trees and 91 posts came from That Don’t Impress Me Much

Overall the post count trended upwards from last years numbers, but Everyday Dragons and posts are still lagging behind where they should be. I’m not sure if this is because those topics should roll up into the ‘Random’ that is View From the Molehill or if I just need to focus a bit more. *pokes*

Looking Forward

A year from now I’d like to look back and see a gradual improvement over time in all areas. I’m only aiming for a 25% improvement across the board (now that I’m settled into a comfortable groove) but I have a feeling that’s still going to take some hard work. *eyes blog*

As always, I need to try and focus on getting my posting schedule more consistent, my content more focused, and my readers more involved. Which is pretty much the general ‘blog better!’ resolution that everyone falls into. :p

The first thing on the list will be to sit down and revist my blogging manifesto for each of the subblogs and plan out a 52 week topic guide. If I can’t think of 52 topics then maybe I’m not meant to blog them.

But who knows– a little bit of random never hurt anyone and the more people I interact with, the more people know that I exist! (And hopefully the more readers I’ll lure into the ranks. *lays out a trail of Reese’s Pieces*)

For your amusement value, these are the 10 most popular posts of the last year:

    Congratulations on another blogiversary!

I hope that you are successful in achieving your goals for your blog and in all of its subsections in the next year. I enjoy seeing your creative, fun custom horses, and I hope that you keep writing about WoW, too. 😀

      Thanks! 😀

It’s been a pretty crazy year, but now that Diablo has lost its addictive appeal—Azeroth is coming back to the forefront of my gaming. I’m working on what my goals are for the next 52 weeks for Perish Twice, so hopefully future WoW content will be a little less sporadic and a lot more amusing. 😉
