Universe: Rise and Walk
Summary: Written for the Terrible Minds Flash Fiction Challenge: Choose Your Setting : “The Bone Cathedral”. Because lo, I haven’t done a drabble in a while and what better ‘verse for this than my favorite blood magic playground? *grin* Although it’s not a proper story, more of a set piece… *pokes drabble* Ah well, it was fun anyway!

The cathedral lurks in the aqueducts, deep beneath the Council halls. Interlaced bone and ivory flicker in the salamander’s light, entwined in homage to the founders, builders, birthers of the city that flourishes above them.

Kerith runs fingers along the walls until he finds them, carved family names worn smooth over time. It’s a link primal and deep to the fallen generations.

Someday his bones will share this space. Tucked into shadows of the older dead he’ll rot here as the last of his life seeps into the magic that keeps the city aloft.

But first his House must rise…
