WordPress.com Gravatar Comment Issues

I am SO not amused

Just in case anyone has been head-desking for the last few days like I have trying to leave comments on WordPress.com blogs…

If you have a Gravatar account you will now need to login to WordPress.com before you can leave a comment. The two services are apparently owned by the same company and the login information is shared between Gravatar and WordPress.com.

Mind you the only way to figure this out is to Google the error message and find threads full of people on WordPress.com complaining about the issues. How nice. *mutters*

I was having this damn problem all week! I was getting rather frustrated, you write a long comment and hit post and you get the error message thing and the whole comment got lost! GRRR!

It has been driving me nuts since I couldn’t figure out when I had registered with WordPress.com and every time I tried to login with the email addresses it was objecting to it told me the password was wrong. When I clicked reset password nothing happened! *rant*

I finally just googled the error and found a good half-dozen threads over at the WordPress.com forums complaining about it. Turns out it was working as intended– only with a few bugs.

So I went back to Gravatar, reset my password there, found out what my username actually was (I have multiple gravatars for my various hobbies)… and then it was gravy. Really lumpy gravy, but gravy. :p

Oh wow! I’m always feeling bad about the Blogger blogs I can’t comment on, I didn’t know that WordPress was giving people issues too!

WordPress is only being a pain if you have a Gravatar– but it seems like just about everyone has one. 😛

Is why I like my own hosted WordPress, less drama more wiggle room! 😉
